The Vision/Mission:

MESLD's Vision-and-Mission is to create a Movement in the City of Baltimore , wherein learning about, building, and keeping a healthy marriage moves from being a rarity to being what most people strive for and accomplish.

To realize the Vision and accomplish the Mission , for at least the next five (5) years, Northwood-Appold United Methodist Church (NAUMC) is providing exemplary service to Baltimore and its surrounding areas through an innovative Healthy Marriage (HM)/Marriage Education Servant-Leadership Development (MESLD) Initiative. The HM MESLD Project includes involvement in and facilitation of three major areas of effort:

(1) MESLD Growth Opportunity (GO)™ Learning Party (LP)™ Sessions (two monthly); (2) A Public Advertising Campaign -- “Healthy Marriage Healthy Community Good Life”™ -- to stimulate interest in the benefits and fun that are part of a healthy marriage relationship (city-wide campaign, ongoing); and (3) Upbeat, energizing, collaborative, City-wide, “Healthy Marriage - Healthy Community” People-and-Family Friendly Special Events (four events annually). As the Movement picks up momentum and grows into the future, NAUMC and the MESLD Program will continue being part of the vanguard -- creating, cultivating, and implementing effective and successful partnerships with community citizens, faith-based institutions, community partners, businesses, and educational institutions – cultivating Healthy Marriages, Healthy Communities, and a Good Life for All.
